If you want to reduce twist in your rope, invest in a Petzl Huit descender!

The Huit is very similar in looks to the classic figure 8, the major difference being the rectangular shape of the large hole. It's the top holes unique rectangular shape that helps reduce rope-twist (pig tails) and the formation of an accidental girth hitch when descending (it operates in a similar fashion to the winged rescue eight).

The Petzl Huit is made from high strength, forged aluminium. This descender be used on single or doubled rope.
