Johno Smith completed the Aerial Rescue (placing third) at the NZ NTCC on Friday and then promptly took himself off to hospital. An aggressive spider had given him a good bite earlier in the week and things had begun to turn nasty.

The NTCA (Northland Tree Climbers Association) Pakaraka Tree Climbers Gathering scheduled for January 15-16, 2011 is generating plenty of interest in the kiwi tree climbing community.

Outgoing National TCC Coordinator, Marlies Laser organized for a group photograph to be taken of all the competitors and volunteers involved in the NTCC over the weekend.

As if a full day of tree climbing was not enough Scott Forrest, Nicky Ward-Allen and Chrissy Spence conducted a climbing workshop to conclude day one of the 2010 NTCC.
2009 NTCC winner and current number two in the NZAA Top 20, Scott Forrest is in the lead with 124 points following the first day of the climbing in the national competition at Ellerslie, Auckland.
