treeMOTION harness set-up made easy

Richard Tregoweth - Wednesday, September 09, 2015

The first purchase for most tree climbers is their harness, and in many cases that harness will be the treeMOTION (New Zealand’s biggest selling arborist harness).

There are many reasons why the treeMOTION is so popular, but one factor is its' adjustability; the treeMOTION allows you to fine tune the harness to suit your particular climbing style and/or body shape.

The only trouble is, adjustment for ultimate comfort is often a matter of trial and error. Apart from reading the manual thoroughly, or asking other treeMOTION users, you are left to your own devices to set the harness up correctly.

Designed by the Treemagineers

The treeMOTION harness was designed by the Treemagineers and one of their team, Mark Bridge, is in New Zealand early October to present a segment in the ‘Practitioners Workshop’ at the 2015 NZ Arb Conference in Nelson.

While Mark is in New Zealand he has agreed to talk with the next generation of aerial arborists; to explain the best way to set-up your tree climbing harness; this includes the treeMOTION and others.

Mark will be at Otago Polytechnic talking to students on Tuesday 6 October, WINTEC in Hamilton on 7 October and MIT in Auckland on Thursday 8 October.

The WINTEC session is open to the wider industry – get hold of Andy Harrison at WINTEC if you are keen to learn more about setting up your harness correctly.

Gear aficionados only

For gear aficionados, Treetools will host an evening with Mark at the Treetools store, Kerwyn Ave, East Tamaki on Thursday 8 October.

We’ll post more information about this event soon.
