Esplanade Gardens confirmed for 2011 Asia-Pacific TCC

Esplanade Gardens confirmed for 2011 Asia-Pacific TCC

Richard Tregoweth - Wednesday, January 19, 2011

Singapore is the host nation for the 2011 Asia-Pacific TCC and the venue is confirmed as the Esplanade Gardens on Esplanade Drive, more-or-less in the city center.

The AP TCC will run over three days, 17-19 June, 2011. In reality it's a 2-day event but there is an extra 'buffer' day to account for the unpredictable weather patterns in Singapore at that time of year.

The pre-lim events are scheduled for the first day except for the footlock. The second day includes a head-to-head footlock in the morning and the Masters in the afternoon.

Climbers from Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Thailand, Japan and Malaysia will compete.

The top five men and the top three women finishers in the New Zealand National TCC are likely to be invited to compete.

Treetools is not able to confirm whether incumbent Asia-Pacific title holder, James Kilpatrick, qualifies to compete in this years event - we'll keep you posted?

If you are planning to attend the 2011 Asia-Pacific TCC be prepared to shell out a few buckeroos - return flights to Singapore are $1600 if you get in quick. We are not sure about the cost of accommodation in Singapore?
