Alveo: the new lightweight arborist helmet from Petzl

Alveo: the new lightweight arborist helmet from Petzl

Richard Tregoweth - Sunday, November 07, 2010

Petzl have announced a new line of climbing helmets to compliment the tried-and-true Vertex Vent and Best helmets currently available for arborists.

The Alveo is similar in construction to the Stein Kask helmet with the pre-formed polystyrene inner and the ability to add the optional visor.

The major difference between the Stein Super Plasma TC and Petzl Alveo is the helmet centering adjust ability of the strapping system, the built-in head lamp clip and the clip-on ear protection (as opposed to screw-on ear protection on the Super Plasma).

In the video below, the commentator mentions the different head liner options available to assist with sizing and helmet hygiene. Treetools has recently made this option available for the current Vertex models.

The replacement Vertex headliner is available in a 'thick' and ' thin' option to further increase helmet adjust ability and improve helmet hygiene (Vertex liners are not yet listed on the Treetools website) .

The Alveo will be available in both the Best and Vent forms similar to the current Vertex range. Delivery dates and price to be confirmed.
