No word yet on NZ Women's representatives in the AP TCC

Richard Tregoweth - Saturday, February 06, 2010

The NZ arb industry must be dominated by men judging by the number of woman's entries in the NZAA/Stihl Regional Tree Climbing Competitions.

Chrissy Spence is well known for her achievements in previous International TCC's and for her performance in the '09 NZ NTCC - definitely a well respected climber.

Nicky Ward-Allen is equally noted for her ability in the foot locking event as well as being the NZ representative in the 2010 ITCC in Chicago later this year. The only other women we can recall being involved is 2006 International TCC winner Elena O'Neill from Otago - one has to ask "where are all the NZ women climbers"?

Treetools is waiting for confirmation on the woman's entries in the Asia-Pacific TCC - Elena O'Neill has been invited to compete and perhaps there will women climbers in the Christchurch and Auckland comps who could also qualify for the Asia-Pacific TCC?
