Mechanical foot lock ascender being developed locally

>Matt Glen, a well known Auckland tree climber and father of the Open Challenge is developing a "mechanical foot lock" foot ascender to make tree access quicker and more energy efficient.

The custom built unit utilizes the new Kong Futura hand ascender with a modified foot 'bar' to support the feet.Upward momentum is generated by using both legs to extend simultaneously providing plenty of upward momentum.

The result is a very fluid, energy efficient climb up the rope. Matt's prototype worked will work SRT and DbRT but apparently a few minor tweaks are stillnecessary to fine tune the system. Looking good so far!
