Can Waikato muster better numbers than the Cantabrians?

Can Waikato muster better numbers than the Cantabrians?

Richard Tregoweth - Tuesday, September 18, 2012

The 2012 NZ Arbor/Husqvarna South Island Regional TCC attracted 32 tree climbers earlier in the month.

The Waikato/Bay of Plenty Regional TCC is scheduled for this weekend at Ferrybank Park in Hamilton - what are the Moo Loos chances of beating the Cantabrians in attracting numbers?

Quite high by all accounts!

Treescape Northern has at least seven climbers Treetools is aware of and other Auckland arb companies are following Treescape's lead.

Technically speaking Auckland climbers are 'out-of-region' but the Waikato TCC event always makes for good practice - and Hamilton is only about and hour and half drive south of the city.

Be on the lookout for the trialling of some new gear particularly in the Throwline and Aerial Rescue events.

If the Christchurch TCC is anything to go by we should see a good showing from the regional arb students.

Treetools has noted a particularly high caliber of climbers in WINTEC's 2012 intake so we are looking forward to seeing them all in action on Saturday at Ferrybank Park.

The weather forecast looks promising.

As always, climbers should register prior to the event (no walk ups on the day) but we are not exactly sure who you should report to?

The NZ Arbor flyer says Andrew Harrison is your man so Andy is probably your best bet.
