The Mad Rock SafeGuard is not to be confused with the Mad Rock LifeGuard. The SafeGuard has no spring, and the springless design makes it more ideal for arborists, camera operators, riggers, rope access, and other speciality uses. If you loved the Trango Cinch, the Mad Rock SafeGuard is the next best thing. Best suited to dynamic ropes 8.9mm to 11mm in diameter. The design stops longer lanyards from 'tailing' unnecessarily when the load to relaxed. The SafeGuard will not lock up automatically. But it will grab onto the rope with very little force on the braking hand, giving you the confidence that the device will not creep or slide once adjusted to position on the lanyard. Can be released under load. Made in the USA.
