Rock Exotica Mini Eight

Compact yet versatile, the Rock Exotica Mini Eight is a small Figure 8 descender equipped with ears for enhanced friction control during the descent. The Rock Exotica Mini Eight biner hole, designed to fit snugly on a 12 mm carabiner bar, features an O-ring that securely grips the carabiner frame, keeping the Mini Eight in place. However, due to its small size, diligent monitoring of wear and abrasion is essential, especially with dirty rope that can accelerate wear. While all Figure 8 descenders generate heat during descent, the smaller ones can become exceptionally hot during long rappels, making it advisable to opt for a larger model for such descents. Additionally, we recommend having a backup friction device like a prussic whenever possible. Crafted from 7075 aluminium, known for its durability and longevity, the Rock Exotica Mini Eight ensures reliable performance and an extended lifespan, unlike other Figure 8 descenders made from more common alloys.
