The KDS Tree Diameter Tape is a convenient, pocket-sized tool designed to measure tree diameters and linear lengths easily. It features a retractable steel tape that measures up to 60 cm in diameter on one side, marked in both centimetres (cm) and millimetres (mm), while the other side measures linear lengths up to 2 meters in both cm and mm. One side of the tape features a standard metric rule, and the other side utilises a clever pi rule, specifically designed to measure the diameter of cylindrical objects, such as trees. To measure the diameter, wrap the pi rule around the tree or pipe, and read the diameter where the zero mark aligns. KDS equip the tape with a metal ring for easy handling. Commonly used by arborists for measuring tree diameters at breast height (DBH), this tape helps in determining tree volume and other essential metrics.
