Samson Deadeye 24mm 5m

The 'Big Boy' of topping strops. The Samson Stable Braid Deadeye 24mm has a spliced eye with a 150mm inside diameter and is designed specifically to work in conjunction with the higher capacity rigging blocks like the large DMM Impact Block. Attach the arborist through the 150mm eye and secure to the tree with a 5-wrap Timber Hitch. Note: Earlier rigging methods used a 3-wrap Timber Hitch but the latest ropes, particularly coated ropes like Stable Braid, requires a 5-wrap Timber Hitch. The extra wraps guarantee contact with the tree. Secure the block tightly to the tree to reduce shock load. Remember, loads generated at the anchor point can be as much as 4:1, so make sure you get it right. 24 mm Samson Stable Braid has an average break strength (spliced) of 17,800kg and an SWL of 1,780kg if a Safety Factor of 10:1 is applied.
