Samson Stable Braid 18 mm Deadeye is suitable for the ISC range of Arborist Blocks and SHERRILLtree Portawraps. Attach your arborist block or Portawrap to the sling's eye and choke around the stem using a cow or timber hitch. Note: Earlier rigging methods used a 3-wrap Timber Hitch, but the latest ropes, particularly coated ropes like Stable Braid requires a 5-wrap Timber Hitch. The extra wraps guarantee contact with the tree. Secure the block tightly to the tree to reduce shock load. Remember, loads generated at the anchor point can be as much as 4:1 so make sure you get it right. Match with any of the swinging bollards or arborists impact blocks for secure attachment to the stem.
