The Wichard, captive-pin shackle with bar is ideal for girth-hitching to your rope saver - no more lost shackles. Can accommodate ropes up to 15mm in diameter, sliding easily between the U-shape above the pin. The shackle is used extensively by tree climbers for Rope Saver retrieval. The Wichard shackle can be attached midline by releasing the pin with a half-turn. The rope then runs through the shackle and the pulley plates on the Rope Saver. When you want to retrieve your saver from the ground, you pull the rope through the pulley, and it gets caught on the shackle. Optimum results are reached with a parrell ball, but a knot at the line termination can achieve the same effect. The Wichard shackle is also useful as a non-PPE connector in other parts of your climbing system; it is a handy piece of hardware for your climbing kit. Forged 316L stainless steel. Designed and made in France.
