Soft rubber 'climbing zone' on the nose of the rigid Vibram sole for extra grip on the cambium, full-shank for climber stability, comfortable memory foam inner (which means a short break-in period) and durable, one-piece naturally waterproofed Perwanger leather outer with breath-ability by Sympatex. The rubber rand up the side of the boot protects the Perwanger sidewalls when the boot is jammed in a crotch or tight branch union.
