Richard Tregoweth - Tuesday, September 07, 2010

Singapore Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Chairman of the National Productivity and Continuing Education Council (NPCEC) Mr Teo Chee Hean, met with Asplundh NZ climber Drew Bristow to discuss the productivity benefits of the DB Tree SRT system in tree climbing at Singapore's 'Green Thumbs 2010' event on Saturday.

Drew led the Singapore Deputy Prime Minister through the paces of the the DB Tree SRT Rope Walker system and Mr Teo Chee Hean could see immediate productivity and efficiency benefits in such a system when utilized for tree access.

Mr Teo Chee Hean outlined a new productivity roadmap for the Singapore landscape industry during his speech at Green Thumbs 2010. The objective for Singapore is to improve productivity in the landscape industry and thereby further enhance the global image of Singapore as the 'Garden City'.

New Zealand already has some influence on the landscape industry in Singapore through training company Hort Training New Zealand. Hort Training NZ director, Richard Wanhill , ex NZAA President, and (almost) Singapore resident can be seen standing (center) in the background in the picture below.

2009 Waikato/BoP TCC winner, Andy Neverman is also a regular CUGE trainer in Singapore for Hort Training New Zealand.
