Climbers hit in the pocket for general tardiness

Climbers hit in the pocket for general tardiness

Richard Tregoweth - Monday, April 18, 2011

Getting climbers to register for tree climbing competitions is a continual problem for event organizers. In an effort to combat climber tardiness, (and to keep pace with inflation) the NZAA have restructured the entry fees for both Regional and National Tree Climbing Competitions.

Effective immediately, the entry fee for regional events will increase from $30.00 to $50.00 with late entries incurring an additional fee of $20.00. National TCC entry will increase to $150.00.

To be fair, Regional TCC entry fees have not changed for over a decade so this rise is hardly surprising.

If you are a NZAA Member there is a bright side to this story - the entry to regional comps will only cost you $10.00 and the nationals $30.00 (plus alate fee if you don't pull your finger out). Looks like it pays to be a member of the association!
