Treetools does not have much detail but it appears the kiwi team have won the $2000 (first ever) tree removal competition held at the World Arborcamp in Samford, Queensland. At this point we are not sure who the three team members were? Hopefully more information will come to hand soon.
The tree removal competition consisted of a team of three (plus a sponsor machine operator) competing against each other to take down a pine tree. 500 points were given to each team, with 20 point deductions for every breach of Australian Safety Standards and OH&S. Teams were timed but the time result was only used in the event of a tie on points. A maximum of seven teams competed.
