NTCA 2012 Otaua Tree Climbers Gathering

NTCA 2012 Otaua Tree Climbers Gathering

Second annual Northland Tree Climbers Association tree climbers gathering at the Otaua Sports and Pig Hunters Club, Otaua, Northland, 17-18 March, 2012

The NTCA gathering is a family affair for everyone interested in tree climbing. All money raised goes towards the NTCA Agathis Fund.

There are basic camping facilities on the Otaua sports ground with showers, toilets, kitchen, and bar in the club rooms.

The schedule is largely informal but there will be the Treetools team relay event on Saturday which includes dragging brush, knot tying, throwline and SRT ascent with loads of great prizes.

A kids arena, managed by Climb Every Thing Johno Smith, Zane Wedding and Drew Bristow will include a speedline, kids 'speed' climb and slack line.

The Gibbons slackline team from Auckland will demonstrate Gibbons products and possibly run a slack line how-to workshop.

If enough people are interested a bus trip is planned to visit Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest with a hangi meal on Saturday night. Commemorative tee shirts will also be available.
