2012 River City Open Masters

2012 River City Open Masters

The Open Masters concept is Matt Glen's brainchild and has, up to date, only been held in Auckland. But that will all change in 2012!

2011 Wellington Regional TCC winner, Clay Winter with support from womens world record footlock holder Nicky Ward-Allen will hold the first tree climbing event of the year in Kowhai Park, Whanganui on Tuesday 3 January, 2012.

KOWHAI PARK is on Anzac Parade (which is also State Highway Four) – and runs for a kilometre or so along Anzac Parade and parallel to the Whanganui River. The SPANISH OAK is about opposite the Nile Street Dairy.

It's a chance to practice CLIMBING A MASTERS'. It is also a way to welcome in the NEW TREE CLIMBING YEAR under a TREE in a PARK on a BEAUTIFUL day next to great RIVER. GEAR CHECK from about 10.00 am, first climber up at about 11.00 am.

We'll stop when we run out of climbers. Nicky will also do a foot lock WORKSHOP for anyone keen to get a few more preliminary points.

REGISTER by contacting CLAY on 021 242 4991, or emailing Mrs. CLAY on, or just show up. Download the flyer here.
