2010 ISAAC Conference and ATCC
, UAAA and SMA Conference
and Tree Climbing Championships will be held in Adelaide, 14-19 May. NZ climbers can seek wildcard entry in the Australian National TCC by filling in the entry form
and returning it to the ISAAC Administration before April 10, 2010.
The 2010 Australian TCC will be a 1-day format with gear check, climbers and judges briefing etc on Friday 14 May afternoon/evening. The competition trees are in Adelaide's South Parklands Pityrilla
(Park 19) and should provide an excellent challenge for the climbers and spectacular viewing for spectators.
Treetools will provide a TCC sponsorship package which includes payment of the ATCC entry fee, flights to Adelaide and accommodation for two nights to the first NZ wildcard climber approved by the ISAAC Administration. ATCC wildcard applications close 10 April. See more sponsorship info here
ISAAC (and the NZAA
) encourages all tree climbers to attend. The TCC's are a great source of information and training for safer and more efficient techniques in tree climbing. They also provide and opportunity for networking, exchanging ideas and building a sense of camaraderie throughout the industry. Many new ideas and equipment design have come directly through climbing competitions.
Scott Sharpe from Tasmania will present a Practical Climbing and Rigging workshop (limited to 20 participants) on Sunday 16 May as part of the ISAAC Conference programme. If you are interested in the newest gear and climbing techniques you definitely should attend this workshop.
