A great day for aerial arb in New Zealand

A great day for aerial arb in New Zealand

Richard Tregoweth - Sunday, August 04, 2013

Kiwi understatement "Nicky won. Oh and Scott won too." - that's Neal Harding's update on the Legends Foundation Blog, August 5, 2013.

The reality is this:

Scott Forrest - 2103 ITCC Mens Champion (previous ITCC Champion 2011)
Nicky Ward-Allen - 2013 ITCC Womens Champion
James Kilpatrick - 2013 Mens Head-to-Head Footlock Winner, reigning Mens World Footlock Record Holder
Nicky Ward-Allen - 2013 Womens Head-to-Head Footlock Winner, reigning Womens World Footlock Record Holder
NZAA Winning ISA Chapter (3rd year in a row)
Mark Roberts, President Elect International Society of Arboriculture (first kiwi and second ever non-American to hold this title).

Outsiders may think we kiwis are a little too patriotic or one-eyed when we claim to be The Best Tree Climbers in the World but for a nation of our size we certainly punch above our weight on the world stage.

In saying that, we do not want to take anything away from all competitors in this years ITCC - it's an amazing achievement to represent your country (or region) competing against the best tree climbers in the world - well done all, but especially well done to our kiwi tree climbing Legends - we are proud of you.

Addendum: Andy Harrison has rightly pointed out that others where on the winning podium: James Kilpatrick placed third in the Mens Division and Veronica Ericsson, who has spent the last six months in NZ, placed third in the Womens - must be something in the air - or is it the WINTEC influence?
