Tree climbers are often lambasted for their lack of scientific data when it comes to the testing of 'homemade' climbing configurations.
Even the testing of manufactured equipment is considered simplistic (and laughable by some) when you see a lump of wood being dropped into a system in lieu of a climber.
However, when compared to rock climbers, we tree climbers seem like a right bunch of pansies. Have a look at the European rock climbing guys above - the content speaks for itself.
