NTCA Agathis Fund tops $2000 already

Richard Tregoweth - Thursday, February 03, 2011

The NTCA Agathis Climber Relief Fund has generated over $2000 since its inception mid-November.

Initiated by founding NTCA directors Troy Alderton and Joe Cooper, the Agathis Fund is a financial support mechanism for members of the NZ tree climbing community in time of need.

The fund generates the bulk of its income from the sale of the Agathis tool lanyards and Agathis tee shirts with additional money raised via workshops and tree climbing comps. Rossy Ross from Pro Climb and Drew Bristow from DB Tree conducted a fully booked "Rigging with the Port-A-Wrap' workshop at the Pakaraka Gathering mid-January and Matt Glen also raised funds via the Fancy Dress TCC, Saturday last.

Raising over $2000 so far is a fantastic effort! This demonstrates the willingness of the NZ tree climbing community to help its own - long may it continue!

Well done NTCA and everyone who has contributed by wearing a NTCA Agathis Fund tee shirt, attending a workshop or TCC or sporting a purple Agathis lanyard on their harness (or all of the above!).
