Globe 5000 footlocking line lives up to expectations

Globe 5000 footlocking line lives up to expectations

Richard Tregoweth - Thursday, March 04, 2010

Current NZ Women's National TCC representative and reigning Women's World Footlock Record holder, Nicky Ward-Allen is the first of Treetools customers to try Globe 5000, the specialist 10mm footocking line from Teufelberger . Verdict: excellent!

Globe was the topic of conversation earlier in the week with Marlies Laser (NZ National TCC coordinator) and Andy Harrison ( Harrison Rockets) and both thought the rope may be a little light in the first few meters, causing the tail to flick but then really come into its own past the half way mark.

Nicky telephoned Treetools after her first three 15 meter practice climbs to say Globe worked as claimed. Apparently, the 'no stretch', light weight and general 'stiffness' of this almost 100% static line made easy work of the 15 meter distance.

Treetools will have Globe 5000 available (for those who want to use it) for the Official World Footlock Record Attempt adjudicated by Tom Greenwood at the Asia-Pacific Regional TCC in Western Park, Freeman's Bay on Sunday, March 21.

If you want to try Globe before the world footlock record attempt Matt Glen will have a footlock set-up at this weekends Open Masters Challenge in Cornwall Park.
