Corona Tree Pruning System

Richard Tregoweth - Sunday, July 05, 2009

We had Brett Nasmith, an arborist with Asplundh, in yesterday to look over the latest climbing equipment including the DMM Ultra O's and the new ART Spiderjack. Brett is a fan of the Corona Dual Arborist Tree Pruning System. He has a couple of Corona pruning heads he's modified to fit onto retired Jamieson sticks.

Brett swears by the product saying he can cut through heavy branches easily from the ground. The Corona spec is 45mm which is excellent for this type of tool. According to Brett he's given these pruners a fair bit of work over the years and they have stood up well. The fully heat treated, forged steel hook is quite thin compared to similar professional pruners and this allows for precise placement in the tree.

The Radial Arc blade is made from forged steel alloy and is easliy resharpened with a Swiss Istor . The system comes in two forms: complete with Corona fibreglass poles or the pruner head only. Treetools will look to add these Corona units to the product range. Parts should also be available.
